BUL FC Junior Team was crowned as the champion of the FUFA Juniors League 2022/23 season on Friday.

The young Eastern Giants reigned supreme in three of the four games they featured in the national juniors league championship held at FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, winning two with big margins to earn bonus points.
A count of eleven points and a goal difference of nine was enough to win them the crown. Vipers also finished with eleven points but they had an inferior goal difference of eight.

Daniel Kabbale’s teens took Mbarara Sports Academy to school with a clean 5-0 win in their first outing before holding their nerves to leap over the fancy Prosper Soccer Academy in a 1-0 victory.
Their road to the throne somehow shrouded in mist and their chances to retain the title almost hit a dead rock when they lost to Vipers SC JT in their third game but they did what they just had to do – winning their final match against Friends of soccer academy.
Swabiru Mpasa, Umar Waiswa, Richard Okello and Yasin Masambo all scored in the 4-0 vital win to move to the top of the standings.

The goalless draw between Prosper and Vipers in the final act of the championship played in their favor and ultimately confirmed their triumph.
This is the second juniors league title for BUL, with the first coming in 2018/19 season when they defeated KCCA Soccer Academy 3-0 in the final.

Out of the four individual awards issued out on Friday, BUL walked home with two. Richard Okello was named the most valuable player (MVP), while custodian Aziz Saleh was announced as the best goal keeper.
