About BUL FC

THE BACKGROUND

Just like any other entity that looks at propelling its own brand and creating brand equity, Bidco Uganda Limited the Uganda’s leading edible oil company had the same agenda to start up a football club in the names of BUL Football Club (BUL FC) with an intent of doing Corporate Social Responsibility and marketing related activities.

Well, let us see it wholly. The real gist as to why the club was started wasn’t on a sporting ground at all but rather to market and promote Bidco Products particularly “Fortune Butto” a product BUL FC bears on their kit as official sponsors in that regard.

Football fanatic Rupesh and Rao Kodey then company treasurer and Managing Director respectively spearheaded the idea of which all staff welcomed.
The club that started at low but with steady evolution was founded in 2007 through departmental competitions where transport manager Dauda Were was appointed the project in-charge.

2007-2008: Won Jinja’s division one league title.

Foreign talent has always been a levelling factor across the division, with every team able to start four players of generally higher level than much of the local talent on show. While the domestic market has bubbled, foreign imports were often affordable injections of quality.

2012-2013: Champion Busoga Independence cup

The new club director thinks no other club should compete with us on local levels. He persistently cites it that BUL FC should only target continental competitions he only assures total support from the board to see this come to pass.
