Gaddafi Football Club was founded in 2016 by millitary officers and men of Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) whose passion for football gave them this idea hence starting the club in Gaddafi Baracks.

Gaddafi has played in all the lower divisions since its inception and were last season promoted from the Star Times Big League to the Star Times Uganda Premier League _ 2021/2022 season.
