Manager Alex Isabirye unveils goalie Hannington Ssebwalunyo in Bugembe

BUL Football Club is delighted to announce the re signing of goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo from URA FC on a one year loan deal.

The 30 year old net minder has completed his medical and will now join the rest of the squad.

“I am pleased to comeback home. This is where everything in regard to my topflight football started from.”

“I promise to do my best to add value to the club. Therefore, the technical team and the fans should expect great performances from me.”

“Home is home and there is no place that is better than home. I now feel very good, calm and happy,” Ssebwalunyo told bulfc.co.ug.

He moved to BUL FC in 2017/18 season in which he made his Uganda Premier League debut before he made a switch to Maroons FC in 2019.

Eastern Giants team manager, Alex Isabirye, commented:

“We conceded silly goals last season. Ssebwalunyo is one of the best goalkeepers in the country and I am sure his experience will help the team improve in that department.”

BUL Football Club has bolstered its striking force with experienced goal hunter, Ibrahim Nsimbe from MYDA FC.

Nsimbe becomes part of us after putting pen to a two-year contract.

“It was my dream to play for a team like BUL FC and also play for coach Alex Isabirye. I now feel exceedingly honoured to have got this opportunity to play for this team,” he said after he was unveiled.

“I will put in much effort to score as many goals as I can to win matches for the Eastern Giants.”

The 26year old forward was the top scorer of Big League season 2019/20 and was a key figure for his former side during their Uganda Premier League expedition last season

BUL Football Club has acquired the services of custodian Saidi Keni from SC Villa.

The shot-stopper has signed a two-year-contract that will keep him at the Eastern Giants for at least up to 2023.

Keni, 22, said: “I am excited to join BUL FC. The club has big ambitions for now and the future and that prompted me to join the team.”

“I am ready to give in all I can so that we achieve all what is there to achieve as a team.”

“Coach Alex Isabirye is one of the best coaches in the country and I have always desired to learn from him, and I know under his tutelage, my career will not remain the same.”

OFFICIAL: ISABIRYE AGREES TO NEW CONTRACT

BUL Football Club is proud to announce coach Alex Isabirye as our new team manager on a permanent deal through to at least 2023.

The coach has signed a two-year contract with us.

His backroom staff will comprise of Richard Kasule Bakabulindi, Daniel Kabale and James Magala as first, second and third assistant coach in that order.

Noah Kasule will serve as the fitness coach of the team, Kenneth Magada as the goal keeping coach while club legend Patrick Asiku Crespo will take up the chief scouting role.

Isabirye said, ” I am happy to sign a permanent contract with BUL FC for the second time. I was here for one season and matched away because the club and I had different ambitions then, but fortunately for this time, our objectives are the same.”

“I have come to stay now that we are reading from the same page and I will work so hard to see that this togetherness yields success.”

“I have won trophies at my previous clubs. We expect to win matches during my stay here and if we do so, trophies will come.”

The manager oversaw ten games last season after joining the team in early may on brief terms, and guided the Eastern Giants to eleventh place and a semifinals slot in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League and Stanbic Uganda Cup respectively.

BUL FC management has issued maximum commitment to supporting the team.

“We have unveiled new staff that will be headed by the new team manager, Alex Isabirye and with the backroom staff he has keenly selected, we expect BUL FC to perform well unlike last season where we struggled a lot. The Management pledges total support to the team to make sure that we win something,” club chief executive officer – Ahmed Kongola said

Isabirye replaces Arthur Kyesimira and this is his second stint at the Eastern Giants after serving the club between 2015 and 2016  in a similar role.

The home shirt features; a V-shaped neckline, green horizontal strips and a green rim on the sleeves.

The predominantly yellow top will be accompanied by green shorts that have yellow side strips, and yellow socks.

While playing from elsewhere, the Eastern Giants will shine in a visually stunning red shirt. It has vertical side strips and a stylish V neck edge -all yellow- adding to an eye-catching look.

Our neutral uniform is all white. The design of its neck opening is similar to that of the foresaid, but the periphery of its sleeves is green.

The chronic stylish logo is still maintained while portraying all the club’s three colours (red, yellow and green) mentioned above in our uniforms.

NEWS: BUL FC LET GO OF EIGHT

We can confirm that we have released a host of eight players. Amongst them are two players who gallantly served us on loan last season. These are; forward Anwar Ntege and midfielder Elvis Kibbale who have returned to their respective parent clubs – URA FC and Edgars FC.

Charles Sempa, winger Robert Mukongotya and striker Deogracious Ojok also make list of those that have walked away from the club.

Experienced defenders; Dennis Okot Oola, Jimmy Kulaba and as well Musa Walangalira have also been freed.

The six leave after their contracts with the club ran down.

We thank all the aforementioned players for having served the club excellently and therefore, we wish them the best in their future endeavors.

OFFICIAL: CLUB STATEMENT ON WALANGALIRA

BUL Football Club has released experienced defender Musa Walangalira after his contract with the team expired at the end of last season.

This has been a challenging decision and not one that the management has taken lightly.

We are grateful to Walangalira for what he has offered to the team as a player since 2018.

And in that regard, the club has offered him a testimonial match to be played at a time he will decide upon.

MATCH REPORT: OJOK, MUKONGHOTYA SCORE TO SECURE SUPERB AWAY VICTORY.

BUL FC cruised to a 2-0 win against Soltiro Bright Stars at Kavumba Recreation Grounds on Wednesday. 

Deogracious Ojok’s fine strike from close range in the first-half saw  BUL FC well in control at half-time. 

The Eastern Giants continued in the same vain at the start of the second-half and their magnificent play presented another goal scoring opportunity on 49 minute. Fredrick Kigozi sought for the head of Ojok with a well laid in cross but the forward’s free header flew a few inches wide of the post.

They made sure of their victory nine minutes after the hour mark. Robert Mukongotya, who had been a threat to the hosts throughout the game, arrowed in a second goal for the team with his trade mark thunderbolt from a free kick near the centerline.

The goal kicked BUL into gear and they began to have more joy containing the Bright Stars threat and continue to pose problems for their opponents at the other end.

With this cushion, assistant coach Dan Mubiru brought on some fresh faces. Ibrahim Mugulusi replaced Charles Sempa, Martin Aprem came in for Mukongotya while Musa Esenu took up the place for Ojok in the 70th, 85th and 89th minutes respectively.

This was BUL FC’s first win in the last six visits to Bright Stars.

The result lifts the Eastern Giants to 9th position on the sixteen team log with 16 points from 13 games played in the Uganda Premier League ahead of Saturday’s clash with Kitara FC at Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe – Jinja City.

Head coach Arthur Kyesimira has confirmed that Fredson Gwoto is BUL FC’s new captain.

The 26year-old has been at the club since he joined from Admin FC in 2019, the coach said he will now lead the team out with immediate effect.

“Gwoto will be wearing the captain’s armband with effect from today. We thank the outgoing leadership of captain Dennis Okot Oola and Jimmy Kulaba for taking the club to where it is now but we felt the group needed a fresh breath in life.” Assistant coach Dan Mubiru stated after the evening training session.

Equally, Gwoto was quick to appreciate the trust coaches have put in him.

I know this hasn’t come by mistake but rather working hard and doing what coaches expect out of me. Being disciplined, respectful and God-fearing are the other aspects of my strength.”  Gwoto revealed.

Fredson will be deputised by Walter Ochora, Jimmy Kulaba and Tibita Hamisi as 2nd, 3rd and 4th team captains respectively.

This is not the first team Gwoto is captaining, but he is also the current skipper of Bukeddi Province team and he was Admin FC’s team captain before joining BUL FC.
