MATCH REPORT: HONOURS EVEN AS BUL FC AND LUGAZI FC SHARE SPOILS IN NAJJEMBE.

BUL FC had to dig deep and show character to come away with a point on the road after a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Lugazi FC at the Lugazi FC Stadium in Najjembe.

It was a game of patience and fine margins. The first half was cagey, with both sides struggling to create clear openings. When Lugazi threatened to break the deadlock, it took a moment of brilliance from our custodian to keep us level. In the 44th minute, Braddy Jeans Wokorach produced a wonderful save, denying the hosts what looked like a certain goal and ensuring we went into the break all square.

Head Coach Alex Isabirye was not willing to settle. At the start of the second half, he made an early attacking change, introducing Martin Aprem for Derrick Byabachwezi to add fresh energy up front. The change almost paid off immediately. Just a minute later, Daniel Bartholomew rose highest to meet a cross, but his header drifted inches wide of the target. It was the closest we came.

The game continued to be a tactical battle. On the hour mark, Lawrence Kambugu was brought on for Richard Okello to add more control in midfield. In the 65th minute, we won a dangerous corner through George Masembe, but Ayiko did well to head it away from danger.

As the clock ticked down, Isabirye rolled the dice again with a double substitution in the 75th minute, bringing on Swabiru Mpasa and Lawrence Olaboro for George Masembe and Daniel Bartholomew. The pressure mounted, but Lugazi defended deep. Our final throw of the dice came in the 85th minute when David Mugalu replaced Reagan Kalyowa, but despite a late push, there was to be no winner.

In the end, it was a point gained away from home and another clean sheet for the Eastern Giants. The result keeps us unbeaten at the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table.
