KASONKO, BUL FC AGREE TO WALK TOGETHER FOR ONE MORE YEAR

BUL FC can announce midfielder George Kasonko has renewed his contract with the club for one year – following the expiry of his previous deal with the Eastern Giants in June.

Captain George Kasonko in action

He joined BUL FC from Busoga United in the 2020/2021 season and immediately became our club captain – holding the position up to now.

During his reign as our leader on the pitch, he has lifted three important trophies – the Stanbic Uganda Cup in 2022, and the FUFA Super Eight in 2023 and 2024 – making him the most successful captain at the club.

In addition, his resounding displays in the midfield during the 2023/24 season helped the team to a second place finish in the league for the first time in our history.

Today’s news, therefore, means Kasonko will extend his five-year stay with the Eastern Giants into the future and continue to help Abbey Kikomeko’s side challenge for major honors.

After putting the pen to paper, Kasonko told bulfc.co.ug that;

I am thrilled to be continuing my journey with BUL FC. This club is like a second home to me, and I’m excited to keep pushing for more success with this great team.”

“I want to thank the management, coaching staff, and my teammates for their support. Let’s keep working hard, we shall achieve more together!

Coach Abbey Kikomeko said;

We’re delighted to have George continue leading our team. He’s a key player and a natural leader.”

“His experience and defensive midfield prowess have been invaluable to us. We’re looking forward to more great things from him and the entire squad as we move forward.”

Kasonko has established himself as a BUL FC legend since his transfer from Busoga United in 2020.

Now he will look to add more trophies to those he has won together with the Eastern Giants, having committed his future to the club once more.
