Defender Nicholas Mwere scored the only goal as BUL FC beat KCCA FC at the FUFA technical center in Njeru.
This was KCCA FC’s first game of the Uganda Premier League season having missed their league opener against Express FC due to CAF Confederation engagement with Abu Salim.
It was a slow start for both teams on a hot day in Njeru but the Visitors looked a better side from the onset.
KCCA FC’S Carlos Da Silva Gui came close to finding the opener but his powerful strike went a few inches wide of Tom Ikara’s reach.
Skipper Julius Poloto had a would be goal denied by Ikara with defender Walter Ochora beaten as KCCA continued their search for a opener.
In the second half, BUL improved and went close through Lawrence Tezikya and Jerome Kirya.
And their efforts were later rewarded in tbe 78th minute when Nicholas Mwere raised high to head in Joel Madondo’s cross to give hosts the all important goal of the day.
Sergio Traguil’s men tried putting up a spirited fight in search for an equaliser but the hosts proved resolute.
Carlos Gui had his freekick kept out by Ikara as BUL FC remained in prayers in the closing stages of the game.
