Our fourth match this season sees BUL FC hosting Mbarara City on Wednesday (tomorrow) at the Lugazi FC Stadium, Najjembe, with kick-off fixed at 4pm.

The opening three games of the campaign have produced two draws and a defeat for BUL. Similarly, the visitors have also had the same run in as many games.

POST MATCH: Maroons 1-1 BUL FC

BUL FC secured a valuable point against Maroons, as the two teams played out a thrilling 1-1 draw at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende. Jeromy Kirya scored for BUL FC in the 45+1 minute, capitalizing on a Maroons defensive error set up by Isaac Wagoina. However, Maroons equalized in the 50th minute   through Brian Omirembe.

Maroons had early chances, but BUL FC’s goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa made crucial saves in the 12th and 27th minutes to deny them the lead. Ibrahim Orit came close for BUL FC in the 43rd minute, but his effort went narrowly wide.

In the second half, Maroons’ Muwanda received a red card in the 66th minute for a second bookable offense. BUL FC’s coach Abbey introduced young stars Innocent Rwothomio and Swabir Mpasa in the 82nd minute to boost the attacking line.

The return leg is scheduled for Wednesday at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

OCHUNGO TRANSFER TO BUL CONFIRMED

Thomas Ochungo has today become an Eastern Giant with the left back signing a two-year contract.

The roving fullback joins us from Gaddafi FC, the team that brought him to the limelight.

Ochungo is one of the most promising fullbacks in the Uganda premier league with alot of potential.

He is a product of the FUFA juniors league having featured for Jinja Municipal Hippos in the first edition of the competition before his stellar performances earned him promotion to the senior side in 2017.

Ochungo first joined Gaddafi FC in 2020 when they were still in the Eastern regional league and guided them to the big league and then to the topflight, before he switched his allegiance to Busoga United in 2022.

He re-united with the Soldier boys in 2023, scoring two goals and recording one assist last season.

NEWS: EASTERN GIANTS RENEW CONTRACTS WITH TWO PLAYERS

BUL Football Club has renewed bonds with two players, midfield fulcrum Godfrey Akol and attacker Richard Wandyaka.

The duo have signed a one year contract extension singly and will all stay at the club up to at least 2022.

Akol and Wandyaka joined us from Busoga United and URA FC respectively and they have never looked back since then.

OFFICIAL: CLUB STATEMENT ON WALANGALIRA

BUL Football Club has released experienced defender Musa Walangalira after his contract with the team expired at the end of last season.

This has been a challenging decision and not one that the management has taken lightly.

We are grateful to Walangalira for what he has offered to the team as a player since 2018.

And in that regard, the club has offered him a testimonial match to be played at a time he will decide upon.

BUL Football Club – Jinja played their forth practice match yesterday at Kyabazinga Stadium – Bugembe, Jinja City.

But in unusual way, the game was played between the club’s Team A (Team Crespo) and Team B (Team Lubega).

Team Crespo won by 2-1 through striker Hamis Tibita and genius midfielder Reagan Kalyowa who scored in either halves in the 4th and 77th minute of the game.

Team Lubega scored their lone and consolation goal through Ibrahim Mugulusi in the 43 minute.

In their fight to equalize, Team Lubega’s Fredson Gwoto long range effort, hit woodwork in the dying minutes of the game for they to settle for less but a second successive defeat in this epic internal clash. The first leg ended 5-1 in favour of Team Crespo.

BUL FC is in preparation for Uganda Premier League resumption and they have been tested with various practice matches to help technical team in assessing players fitness levels.

The Money Team have now won all their friendlies by beating Bugiri Da School 4-1, Budondo FC 1-4, Sudanese Select 7-1.

The Eastern Giants will take on Kampala City Council Authority Football Club on February 12, at Kyabazinga Stadium – Bugembe, Jinja City when the league returns.

BUL FC can be located in position twelve on the 16 team log with four points gathered by far.

Their last friendly game will come against Big League side, Gaddafi FC on Jan 30, at home in Bugembe.
