The Eastern Giants are on the road again as BUL FC make a trip to Bukedea to face newly promoted Kataka FC in our second game of the 2026/27 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.

This will be the first ever meeting between Kataka FC and BUL FC in the Uganda Premier League. Kataka, based in Mbale, secured promotion last season after finishing among the top four alongside Blacks Power, Ntugasaze and Kigezi Homeboyz.

TEAM NEWS:

There is good news from the camp as both defenders Walter Ochora and George Kaddu are fully fit and available for selection. Edward Satulo is back in contention and will face a late fitness test, with the entire squad otherwise available for Head Coach Alex Isabirye to select from for tomorrow’s encounter.

Coach’s remark

“We thank God for enabling us to travel safely to Bukedea. We are playing tomorrow against Kataka FC and truthfully, the league has just started so we don’t know much about them, but we believe they are a strong team. We are coming into this game with different tactics and strategy, it will not be the same as the Express FC game.”

Winger Reagan Kalyowa’s remarks

“First of all, I thank God for the gift of life. All players are ready and the mood in the camp is high ahead of tomorrow’s game. We call upon our fans to travel in big numbers to come and rally behind us.”

LAST TIME OUT:

For BUL FC, started the season on a high with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Express FC at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru. Swabir Mpasa’s 12th minute strike was enough to give us maximum points and place us among the early top six with 3 points.

For the hosts, Kataka FC marked their return to the top flight with a resilient 1-1 draw in their opening game, earning their first point in the UPL and currently sitting 11th on the log.

HEAD TO HEAD:

This is the first competitive meeting between BUL FC and Kataka FC in the Uganda Premier League history. No previous record.
