MATCH REPORT: BUL FC 2-1 SC VILLA

BUL FC secured three very vital points at home with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over SC Villa in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounter played yesterday at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

The Eastern Giants started on a high, leading 2-0 at the break thanks to first-half goals from Alex Kitata and Derrick Byabacwezi.

We returned for the second half strongly but saw an early setback when George Kasonko picked up an injury and was replaced by Frank Katongole in the 46th minute.

The visitors pulled one back in the 66th minute through Tonny Asiku to make it 2-1, after Denis Ssewagudde had earlier teed up Lawrence Olaboro whose effort went just wide in the 64th minute.

Coach Abbey Kikomeko made further changes to preserve the lead, bringing on Lawrence Olaboro for Alex Kitata in the 58th minute, before a double substitution in the 78th minute saw Martin Aprem and Sowedi Lwenda come on for Swabiru Mpasa and Richard Okello respectively.

The boys held on resiliently to secure all three points at home.
