MATCH PREVIEW: BUL FC VS ENTEBBE UPPC FC – MATCHDAY 9

BUL Football Club will be aiming to strengthen our grip at the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table when we host Entebbe UPPC FC tomorrow, Saturday 31st October 2026 at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

It has been a dream start to the season for Alex Isabirye’s charges. The Eastern Giants sit top of the log with 19 points from 7 games, having registered 6 wins, 1 draw and 0 losses.

Our unbeaten run continues to gather momentum. In our last league outing, we broke the long-standing NEC FC jinx with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over NEC FC at Njeru, a result that saw us extend our lead at the summit. Before that, we secured a 2-0 away win against UPDF FC and a 0-0 draw away to Lugazi.

Entebbe UPPC FC, coached by Abdallah Mubiru, have been impressive this season and have proven to be tough opponents. The Printers are currently 4th on the table with 15 points from 8 games and come into this encounter off a 0-0 draw against Maroons FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

They are solid defensively, having conceded only 2 goals in their opening 5 league matches, and will be looking to close the gap on the top sides.

TEAM NEWS

Head Coach Alex Isabirye Musongola has a fully fit squad available for selection tomorrow except for two players. George Masembe who lost his mother two days ago and Dennis Ssewagudde who lost his uncle yesterday night.

The club sends its heartfelt condolences to Masembe and Ssewagudde and their families during this difficult moment.

COACH’S REACTION – ALEX ISABIRYE

Ahead of the encounter, Head Coach Alex Isabirye said his side is fully prepared and not under pressure despite leading the table.

“We are not under pressure because we are top of the table. We are ready for the game, though we know it will be a tough game against a good side like Entebbe UPPC. Entebbe UPPC is a good team. I respect their coaches and the work they have done. They are well organized and hard to break down, but we have prepared well and we are going for maximum points at home.”

PLAYER’S REACTION – HILARY ONEK

Defender Hilary Onek says the team is motivated to avenge last season’s double loss to Entebbe UPPC.

“All the players at BUL know what happened last season between BUL and Entebbe UPPC where they beat us home and away. We are well prepared to reverse those results. The team is well prepared and motivated.

We have taken into consideration what the coaches have told us and we are ready to play under instructions in tomorrow’s game. I thank our fans for turning up in our previous games and I call upon them to come again tomorrow, fill Njeru and make Njeru loud.”
