NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER ANNOUNCED

BUL Football Club is delighted to announce the promotion of Mr. Mutaka Joseph from head of communication and marketing to club Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.

Having joined BUL FC as a volunteer in 2012, Mr. Mutaka is one of the current longest serving members of staff at the team. He first worked as a media liaison officer before ascending to the position of head of communication and marketing at the club. He has a storied career in sports including roles as a managing director at Tangosport Uganda and media officer at the different national football teams, as well as being a veteran sports caster.

Mutaka replaces Mr. Ahmed Kongola whose contract with the club expired and the executive objected to renew the relationship because he did not pass his key performance indicators.

Upon the appointment, club chairman – Mr. Ronald Barente commented:

“Mutaka has been our project. He has been on this team since 2012 and personally I didn’t want to bring in new people who don’t understand our values and goals that BUL FC wants to achieve.” “Besides that, he is a very hard working and sincere man“.  “I have worked with him for a very long time now and he has always performed to my expectations in the few roles he has held here.” “So we sat down as the executive and zeroed on him because he also has the required qualifications for a C.E.O. post”

Mr. Barente further said, “He will also be given key performance indicators just like the previous C.E.O. If he performs well, we shall continue with him and if he doesn’t, we shall sit and assess him”.

New chief executive officer – Mutaka Joseph also commented on his promotion:

“Getting promoted from head of communication and marketing to head of business more so of a super division club is thrilling. I am excited because of this opportunity to serve BUL FC as their C.E.O”. “However, this position doesn’t belong to me as Joseph Mutaka but belongs to all members of staff, we are going to work together as one.”

BUL FC is one of the most popular clubs in the region and Mutaka envisions it becoming the best team in the country in the near future under his reign as the chief executive officer.

“If everything is put in place and given support, trust me we shall have one of the best clubs in Uganda”. “We have a strategic plan for the short term but we shall lay another for the long run”. “I want us to professionalize the Eastern Giants and I want it to become a model club in the country.”

“Some people here hate professionalism, but that is the route I want us to take if we are to achieve our goals”. “I look upon to selling the brand of this team beyond its boundaries and having the happiest secretariat, and I expect in three to five years from now, other clubs will be coming to us to seek knowledge of developing a football club.”

The new chief executive officer also promised fans a bright amicable future and a serene environment around the club. “Fans are going to feel my presence, this is just the beginning. They have their own grievances but I will handle them because I plan to have routine meetings with them to see a way forward”. “I may not fulfil all they want but I promise to provide solutions to some of their problems”. – New CEO promised.

Another notable promotion is that of Mrs. Rehema Namuyomba. She assumes the roles and the office of the head of communication and marketing at the club.
