JINJA DERBY: BUL FC SLIP TO BUSOGA UNITED

FULL TIME: BUL 0-1 BUSOGA UNITED

A second-half Ivan Wani header condemned BUL Football Club to a 1-0 defeat against Busoga United in the Uganda Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The 57th minute strike was enough for the visitors to take all three points and leave BUL empty-handed from the return leg of Jinja derby at Kyabazinga Stadium

The Eastern Giants started the contest well and had two opportunities within the opening five minutes.

After three minutes, Paul Mbazira’s effort was tamed by Michael Nantamu after Robert Mukongotya went on a charging run from the left wing back position and swung in a cross.

Simon Peter Oketch almost put BUL into the lead with just five minutes off the clock but his efforts were deflected out for a corner.

Busoga United’s first opportunity came seven minutes in when Ismail Mugulusi found Shaka Ssozi in the 18 yards box but his  poor chest control saw the ball cleared by Kenneth Ssemakula.

Joremy Kiirya met the floating ball from the resultant corner with a  header at the edge of the box but his efforts went wide.

Walter Ochora was shown the first yellow card of the game after bringing Mugulusi down as Franco Magero Balabala also went into the referee’s book for unsporting behavior three minutes later.

The end to end game saw no goal before the half time break.

After the interval, the Eastern Giants introduced on Martin Aprem for Paul Mbazira in the opening minute of the second half.

The hosts had better of the exchanges of the opening period of the second stanza, pressing for an opener but it was the visitors who took the lead through Wani header three minutes to the hour mark.

Kyesimira’s men pushed forward in a bid to get back into the game but they could not find a way through.

Richard Wandyaka replaced Godfrey Akol as Dennis Okot took up a place for Godfrey Akol in the 74th minute before Mugulusi skewed his shot over the bar three minutes later.

The midfielder then saw another strike blocked for a corner eight minutes to the end of the game as BUL continued to push forward for a leveler.

Three added minutes were played at the end of the game but Busoga saw them out unbleached to go with the three points.

The result means the Eastern Giants remain on 24 points from 20 games

BUL FC  are next in action on Tuesday April 27 when they travel to SC Villa at Bombo Military grounds.

  1. I’ve been browsing on-line greater than three hours as of late, yet I by no means found any interesting article like yours.
It is lovely worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all web
owners and bloggers made just right content material as you probably did, the net
shall be a lot more useful than ever before.
